Experience Kissimmee and Visit Jacksonville Win Flagler Award at Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism


Madden Media partners Experience Kissimmee and Visit Jacksonville were honored at the 48th Annual Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism on August 31. Experience Kissimmee won a Silver Flagler Award for Internet Advertising, and Visit Jacksonville won the coveted Henry Award for Niche Marketing and a Silver for Mixed Media campaign.

For Experience Kissimmee, Madden Media created the content marketing piece entitled Becoming Dad: How a Trip to Kissimmee Brought a Family Together and developed the interactive Presentation Layer for the piece. Becoming Dad is a first-person account of how the author’s vacation to Kissimmee with his family created a defining moment with his step-son. The On Tap in Jax story was Madden Media’s contribution to Visit Jacksonville’s Niche Marketing and Mixed Media campaign wins. The article focused on the craft brewery scene in the city and was part of a larger initiative to attract that niche audience. To read On Tap in Jax, click here.

The Flagler Awards were named in honor of Henry Flagler, an industrialist who was credited with the development of Florida’s east coast through his contributions in tourism and agriculture.The awards recognize outstanding tourism marketing in Florida and are presented annually by VISIT FLORIDA.

2ESTO Destiny Award

Amarillo Convention & Visitor Council and Visit Jacksonville Win Destiny Awards at ESTO


Madden Media partners Amarillo Convention & Visitor Council and Visit Jacksonville won coveted 2015 Destination Council Destiny Awards for Digital Campaign and Niche Marketing, respectively, at the annual US Travel Association’s ESTO (Education Seminar for Tourism Organizations) meeting in Portland, OR on August 24.

Madden Media created the content marketing piece entitled Man vs. Steak and developed the interactive Presentation Layer for the piece. Man vs. Steak is a first-person account of the author’s attempt to beat the famed Big Texan Steak Ranch’s 72-oz. Steak Challenge. For Visit Jacksonville’s Jax Ale Trail, Madden Media wrote the On Tap in Jax story. The article focused on the craft brewery scene in the city and was part of a larger initiative to promote Jacksonville as a craft beer destination. To read On Tap in Jax, click here.

The Destiny Awards recognize members for excellence and creative accomplishment in destination marketing and promotion at the local and regional level; and foster the development of imaginative and innovative destination marketing promotion programs and activities.

Madden Media Recognized with Three Content Marketing Award Finalists


Madden Media received finalist recognition in three categories at the 2015 Content Marketing Awards. The recently announced awards recognize excellence in all areas of content marketing, from strategy and distribution to editorial and design. The Content Marketing Awards are presented and owned by the Content Marketing Institute and is the largest international program of its kind.

Madden Media Partner Inducted Into Arizona Tourism Hall of Fame


John Hudak was recognized for his leadership and advocacy within the tourism industry at the Arizona Governor’s Conference on Tourism

Tucson, AZ, June 24, 2015– Madden Media Partner, Publisher and Chief Marketing Officer John Hudak was inducted into the Arizona Tourism Hall of Fame on Wednesday, June 23. He was honored at the Arizona Governor’s Conference on Tourism for his long-standing commitment, leadership and advocacy within the travel industry, both locally and nationally.

Hudak began working in the tourism industry nearly three decades ago. He has since risen to a leadership role at Madden Media, overseeing the publication of more than 150 travel guides during his tenure. Madden Media’s guides have won hundreds of design and editorial awards, including the U.S. Travel Association Mercury Award for Best State Travel Guide for the Arizona Official State Visitor’s Guide.

“For the past 28 years, John has championed tourism nationally and in Arizona,” said Kevin Madden, Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Madden Media. “We are proud to see him getting the recognition he so deserves.”

Hudak currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the U.S. Travel Association, the largest tourism advocacy organization in the country. He has also been active on several tourism boards and committees, including the board of directors for California Travel Association, Texas Travel Industry Association board, and the tourism task force for Visit Phoenix.
