Visit North Carolina

Madden Media teamed up with North Carolina to provide a mobile friendly version of their website designed to provide easy and relevant access to the thousands of local listings on VisitNC.com. The site is designed to provide a consumer relevant ideas for dining, attractions and more based on where in North Carolina they are located.

North Carolina's rich mobile app went live in June 2011 with these features:

Automatic detection and redirection when mobile users access the CVB's website
Use of the latest web standards including HTML5 and CSS3
Location-based results sorting, maps, and turn-by-turn directions using geolocation standards
Sub-categories within major categories where needed (for example, outdoors sub-categories include cycling, hiking, and rock climbing)
Integrated content management system to synchronize the app with the client's database and tie mobile-specific features to existing content
