Metropolitan Tucson Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Gem Show teamed up with Madden Media to develop a mobile website to help guide users through the Tucson Gem Show’s different events, shows, vendors and dining opportunities.
The Tucson Gem Show's rich mobile app went live in January 2011 with these features:
- Automatic detection and redirection when mobile users access the Gem Show section of the CVB's website
- Use of the latest web standards including HTML5 and CSS3
- Location-based results sorting, maps, and turn-by-turn directions using geolocation standards
- Integrated content management system to synchronize the app with the client's database and tie mobile-specific features to existing content
