Madden Media gears up to help revitalize tourism on the Gulf Coast region

In an effort to assist its tourism partners, Madden Media, a Tucson, Arizona, firm will play a major role in a campaign to revitalize tourism on the Gulf Coast region, ravaged by hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.

"We helped get a $500,000 matching grant from the federal government for the Southeast Tourism Society to create an integrated and targeted campaign to boost tourism in the region," according to the firm's President and Publisher John Hudak.

Madden Media publishes newspaper inserts promoting tourism and creates integrated media campaigns in markets all over the United States, including the southeastern part of the country most affected by the hurricanes. The firm is part of a tourism coalition formed to create a special marketing campaign to bring tourism to the multi-state region over an 18-month period, Hudak said.

STS, formed in 1983, is a tourism promotion trade association with 700-plus members in 11 Southeastern states. The grant money will be distributed by the U. S, Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration.

"During this last year, we contributed more than $75-thousand dollars to the Southeast Tourism Society in advertising in our newspaper inserts and emedia campaigns, which helped provide the match for the grant money the federal government is providing."

STS and Madden Preprint have a long-standing relationship in promoting tourism on the Gulf Coast of over 10 years.
